Innovation Strategy

I identify new opportunities, evaluate the choices, and build strategies that turn emerging needs into growth.

That is usually a good place to begin. I work with leadership teams, founders, and public institutions to read change early and turn it into decisions they can act on. Here is how we can work together, what to expect, and how to start.

What it is

Turn emerging opportunities into strategic bets.

Foresight tells you what is changing. Innovation strategy decides what to do about it. It is the work that sits between research, strategy, design, and commercial reality: finding where the real opportunities are, choosing which ones deserve investment, and defining how to turn them into value. The question is simple to ask and hard to answer well. Where should we innovate, for whom, and how do we create value?

Done well, it surfaces growth beyond the obvious, opportunities that standard market analysis tends to miss, and focuses investment on the few bets that deserve attention, experiments, and resources.

It lowers innovation risk by testing strategic assumptions before real money is committed, and it turns research into concrete decisions rather than insight for its own sake.

The result is a stronger pipeline: a structured portfolio of opportunities instead of a pile of disconnected ideas, with emerging needs connected to what the organisation can actually build, and a clear path from opportunity to market.

01

How is it different from strategic foresight?

Foresight reads change and maps the futures it points to. Innovation strategy decides what to do about it: which opportunities to pursue and how to turn them into value. Foresight widens the field of view; innovation strategy narrows it into a bet you can commit resources to.

02

How do you decide which opportunities to pursue?

By assessing each against real demand, strategic fit, and feasibility, then prioritising with an explicit view of the trade-offs, so investment goes to the bets that matter rather than being spread thin.

03

How long does an engagement take?

Most run roughly six to twelve weeks, depending on how much primary research is involved. The scope and timeline are agreed before we start.

04

Do you work with startups as well as enterprises?

Both. The method scales to the size of the decision, not the size of the organisation. I work with enterprises seeking new growth and with founders finding where the real market is.
